Someone told me about gtk-recordmydesktop 2 months ago. I installed it from the
repo (tick a box) in a matter of seconds and it worked perfectly out of the box,
with an intuitive GUI, sound... everything!
Several years back when Compiz was new it was not as simple to produce
videocasts.
Progress in Free software is rapid.
