We Donât Really Want Innovation

,----[ Quote ]
| I can see how it is very frustrating for a
| developers out there. The public clamors
| for innovation, but when you give it to
| them, they balk at the differences from what
| theyâre used to. I think this is why the
| word innovation is beginning to lose its
| meaning from overuse in marketing materials.
| We claim to want one thing, but want
| another. Itâd be easier if we just said
| what we wanted, but I donât think most
| people realize they donât want innovation
| until they are faced with it and want to
| crawl back to the familiar. Iâm hoping the
| Gnome developers can have the resolve to see
| their innovation through. They should do
| their best and people should give it a shot.
| If there truly arenât any benefits and if it
| truly sucks â we can go back to the old
| style. Otherwise maybe weâll be the next
| thing Microsoft and Apple copy.

Mandriva 2010.0: Quite Possibly The Best KDE Distro This Year

,----[ Quote ]
| Conclusion
| Normally I like to provide the good and the
| bad about every operating system I review,
| however I cannot find anything to complain
| about in Mandriva 2010. Although Iâve only
| had a chance to test Kubuntu 9.10 and
| Mandriva 2010 when it comes to the new wave
| of Linux distroâs, itâs obvious to me
| already that this release is nothing short
| of amazing, and is everything Kubuntu 9.10
| should have been. Mandriva has set the
| standard that other KDE-based distributions
| should follow yet again.
|
| Note: In addition, the GNOME version isnât
| half bad either, although I havenât had as
| much time to spend with it.
|
| The Good
|
| * Everything
|
| The Bad
|
| * Nothing
|
| Overall: 5/5 (Fantastic)
