First FOSDEM 2010 Speaker Interviews

,----[ Quote ]
| Interviews with four of the speakers at
| FOSDEM 2010 are now available. FOSDEM will be
| held February 6-7 in Brussels, Belgium. This
| round of interviews includes David Fifield
| (Nmap), Greg Kroah-Hartman (Linux kernel),
| Richard Clayton (Evil on the internet), and
| Wim Remes (OSSEC).

How Should I Vote in these Awards for Open Source?

,----[ Quote ]
| I don't like awards. They seem pretty
| pointless both to give and to get. For that
| reason, I try not to take part as a judge,
| either. But despite my best efforts, I seem
| to have been âvolunteeredâ for the "2010
| Linux New Media Awards", something to do with
| CeBIT Open Source, without being given much
| choice in the matter. So, I've decided to
| make the best of a bad job by asking Linux
| Journal readers to help me decide who I
| should vote for.
| Irrespective of the fact that this is a
| purely selfish, pragmatic way of dealing with
| the problem, it also has the merit of making
| my choices rather more meaningful. After all,
| there's no reason why I should know who or
| what is the âbestâ for each category, but
| it's quite likely that the collective wisdom
| of the (virtually) assembled Linux Journal
| readers should have a pretty good idea.
| Indeed, in my view the organisers of this
| competition would probably have done rather
| better asking Linux Journal readers directly,
| but hey, what do I know?

FOSDEM 2010: Call for presentations

,----[ Quote ]
| The tenth annual Free and Open Source Software
| Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) is
| scheduled to take place on the 6th and 7th of
| February, 2010 at the University of Brussels.
| The KDE Developer Room (DevRoom) organisers
| have announced that they are now accepting
| submissions for talks on any KDE related topic.
| All proposals must be submitted before the
| deadline of the 3rd of January, 2010. More
| details about submitting talks, including
| available times and requirements, can be found
| on the KDE FOSDEM 2010 wiki.

X.Org Development Room @ FOSDEM 2010

,----[ Quote ]
| X@FOSDEM 2010 will just be on Sunday, the 7th
| of February, in Brussels, Belgium. A one day X
| conference will allow for seven talks that
| span the course of the day, but on the
| previous night there may be the usual X.Org
| dinner at a local restaurant. Available now is
| the X.Org FOSDEM 2010 Wiki along with Luc's
| announcement.
