| netbooks and tablets.

| in 2008 were running Linpus Linux Lite, a
| custom Linux distribution optimized for

| Linux netbooks anymore, the folks at
| Linpus havenât given up on the mobile

Netbook Version Of Meego Available

,----[ Quote ]
| Meego, the mobile Linux Operating system
| introduced by Intel and Nokia, has
| officially been launched with a netbook
| version ready to go.
| Version 1.0 of the MeeGo Core Software
| platform (CSP) and the Netbook User
| Experience will offer the first true taste
| of a platform that has been created after
| Intel's Moblin merged with Nokia's Maemo
| platform back in February at the MWC.

Despite Intel backing, MeeGo Linux to support ARM chips

,----[ Quote ]
| MeeGo Linux is being developed as a
| platform for smartphones, netbooks,
| internet connected TVs, in-car systems, and
| other devices where Windows may not always
| be the best option. The project is backed
| by chip-maker Intel and smartphone maker
| Nokia. And so far, every device Iâve seen
| running MeeGo has had an Intel chip â
| usually a low power Intel Atom processor.
| But in an interview with The Inquirer,
| Nokia vice president Alberto Torres
| explained that MeeGo is an open platform
| and that it will be available for device
| makers to use on a wide variety of
| hardware. In fact, Nokiaâs first MeeGo
| device will have an ARM-based chip rather
| than an Intel x86 processor.
