This knowledge may actually be crucial for colonisation of other hospitable planets because
we're destroying the only planet we ever evolved to live in. If we know how wormholes and
black holes work, maybe we can experiment with those, e.g. to push or pull matter, to move
Earth away from the Sun when it heats up, etc. Before we knew about germs in our surroundings,
there was more agony due to disease. These days, people can have smaller families (sustaining
controlled growth) because there is less paranoia due to loss of a child.
Cosmic understanding is independent from morality and fantasy.
