Faisal Beg did quite an interesting job while at John Hopkins.
His work on Computational Anatomy with Trouve, Miller and Younes is
very impressive.
As for the group It looks like a young team, so the atmosphere is
probably very nice. But it seems they lack experienced people. It would
be interesting to know whith which other group of the university they
collaborate.
