Re: [News] Latest iTunes DRM Backward Engineered

Once upon a midnight dreary, while Mark Kent pondered weak and weary over
many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore...:

hee... I was in Virgin yesterday and bought the newly-released Nelly Furtado
album (my first such purchase in like, a decade and a half) the day it came
out. Though, not before taking along my laptop and demanding a test play
first.

'cos you know if it hadn't played on my SuSE box, I'd've just walked out.

Didn't half get some weird looks from the staff tho, and the odd "Why don't
you just buy a CD player?" to which my reply was "I have one. It plays DVDs
as well. And gets me on the net. And lets me make phone calls, send text
messages, play games, even, horror of horrors, type documents and process
images. Oh yeah, and it allows me to earn money, too. Why, what does your
CD player do besides play CDs?"

Picked up seasons 2-4 of 24 as well, the back to the future trilogy, and
RHPS for gits and shiggles.

Didn't bother testing the DVDs, I can play pretty much anything on my xbox
(plus that's a bit bulky to be toting around with the 28" TV, and I didn't
have a mile and a half of electrical cable hanging around).

something, build a new model that makes the old model obsolete.
