Not sure about its beauty during bootup, but it looks usable enough,
once one gets to the very last screen. All the other screens look
like configuration settings (in Japanese, unfortunately, which I
can't read) and the next-to-last one looks like a login affair.
Of course the XP login screen is a blank blue with a little
prompt. Does one expect beauty there? The standard xdm
screen is even more basic; the gdm screen lends itself to
some customization.
One wonders what Vista's login screen will look like -- and whether
anyone gives a flying [censored] about it all. Certainly I'm not
sure I do.
