ruby on rails (ror) is great, and it's easy to get into as all the docs
are videos. but ruby itself is a lot like a mixture of perl and python,
it's great. but perl is just a bit better, it's got a bigger library on
cpan and the linguistics are advanced.

eclipse? geese, it's nice that it's open source and all, but how about
gvim? it's much better, loads about a gazillion times faster and
anything from a pentium can handle a few copies of gvim running. for
pre-pentium systems there is vim, etc.
