I hope the jury will take this as a hint. Only a criminal company like Enron
and WorldCom would adopt this retention policy throughout the entire
enterprise (6 months retention at most). Corruption is a daily routine at
Microsoft's board level. I wonder how much Gates' personal SPAM filter
department (yes, he employs a bunch) actually knows. And if you don't reply
within days, Gates may lack context of conversations. It's a good thing that
others whom he communicates with (not internally) will be there to hand over
evidence. The leaked Holloween Documents spring to mind.
