I guess I quite delibarely not say this explicitly. My choice of SUSE was a
matter of convenience. It was just there; so, I did not necessarily choose
it because it was best by some judgment I had made (Ubuntu was not yet
widely known at the time) . But there is a merit to uniformity and change of
distrobution often comes with change in prepackages applications, Web sites,
on-line communities, knowledge (e.g. knowing your way around YaST2) and so
forth. There is nothing wrong with Ubuntu. I just happen to be comfortable
with SUSE and the OpenSuSE community. I also need many features in KDE,
whereas if I had used GNOME exclusively, I would never have missed them (I
would not have realised their existence).

All in all, I think Ubuntu wins when it comes to package management, so it's
a fine choice. If can have KDE installed if needed.
