Question, is he posting information that is related to Linux, either
pro or con?

Spam would be sending out information about how you could make money
selling soap and/or vitamins (send $400 for the "sample kit"). Spam
would be sending offers for bootleg viagra, cialis, or enzyte (no
prescription - makes purchase and sale a criminal offense in the USA).
The or gentlemen with money they want to launder (the treasury
department will send you a bill for the taxes and penalties and could
prosecute you for criminal offenses), the lottery that wants you to pay
the taxes before they give you the money (the IRS will be there when
you get the check, not before you get the money), or the lawyer
representing a long lost relative who wants to argue your case in
probate court.(a token filing - or not even that, and then your money
dissappears).

Spam would be all of that junk-mail that has nothing to do with Linux,
computers, or anything even remotely related to this group.

If you have an example of such activities, perhaps you can quote a few
lines so we can google search for this pattern of abuse.

Posting a alink to an article about Linux, along with a few choice
quotes to pique the interest is completely appropriate. Most of the
articles that I have seen cited in this group were absolutely
appropriate. I may not always agree with them, but I'm more than
willing to entertain them as relevant and interesting content - worth
research.

It would be inappropriate to quote the whole article verbaitum - that
would be copyright violation. Conversely, it would be nice to have
SOME sample of what makes the article relevant and interesting.

I come to this newsgroup to see what information might be helpful to
Linux advoccates, this includes the arguments FOR Linux (so they can be
verified, and passed on), and AGAINST Linux (so that legitimate issues
can be addressed, and questionable information can be further
researched and ultimately challenged.

WinTrolls in the group pointed out the problem with ugly fonts, and now
many distributors are using KDE with smoothing, scalable fonts, and 100
DPI fonts instead of 75 DPI fonts which were designed for Linux back
when displays were 640x480 on a 15 inch screen, and a computer with 4-8
megabytes of RAM.

There are still situations where ugly fonts (75dpi) are still
appropriate, like PDAs, very old computers being used in Africa and the
Middle East, and brand new computers

Most REAL spamming is already being blocked at the door. Most NNTP
sites have filters to block out the worst offenders. When new sources
are identified, they are verified before being blocked.

And you would probably be reprimanded for wasting their time.

I notice that you only accuse those who post "Pro-Linux" articles of
spam, and seem to have ignored tab, DFS, and others who post
"Anti-Linux" references.

One would think that you are trying to impose censorship against
pro-linux posters.
