To be honest, I didn't read the blog post before replying. I see that my
reply addressed issue somewhere along the right spot, as it turns out to be
a reality:

Microsoft: when they can't beat them, they'll own them, and kill them from
the inside. See my post titled (subject line'd rather) "Joke Du Jour".
Microsoft intends to fool IT professional. They might invade some space, go
beyond enemy lines so to speak, befriending Open Source in stealth and in
due time destroy it by making it less appealing (compatibility). it's the
Trajan horse approach. And Microsoft knows a thing or two about Trojan
horses, whereas users take it all for granted, as though it's synonymous
with personal computing.
