The usage of IE is grossly overestimated because of "Other", as well as
user-agent forging (see how far you can go on the Web with "Konqeueror" or
Safari" in your HTTP headers). On my main site, here are some browser stats
from the past 27 days.
MS Internet Explorer No 414763 54.1 %
Firefox No 214963 28 %
Unknown ? 60872 7.9 %
Safari No 29153 3.8 %
Opera No 15748 2 %
Mozilla No 13775 1.7 %
Netscape No 7636 0.9 %
Konqueror No 4450 0.5 %
Camino No 1650 0.2 %
UP.Browser (PDA/Phone browser) No 988 0.1 %
Others 2036 0.2 %
1 in 2 people uses Internet Explorer. For the record, Windows has 77% of the
pie, which means that not many Windows users are using IE these days.
