	Video engineers use bleeding edge hardware and try to milk
every MIP out of it. Individually optimized binaries would be of
TREMENDOUS benefit to the performance minded end user.

	The same is true to a lesser extent for audio engineers.

	The same goes for embedded systems like POS where the idea
is to use as few as resources as possible.

	Delivery by source and makefile could be of considerable
and perceptable benefit to the naive non-technical user. As you
say, they would not really care that it was delivered that way
either.

	That "distinction" is lost to them.
