There was virtually NOBODY replying to it in the beginning until people
brought up that fact and the offline emails started flying between Roy and
his shills.

Check Dragon's stats from a few months ago and compare the reply count to
the present.

Just take a look at the first page you get in google groups for
comp.os.linux.advocacy

All you see on any given day and hour is [news] and Roy.
People take one look and figure it's some kind of a spam group and leave.

When you bring in linux groups on the typical newsreader, alphabetically,
COLA is at or near the top.
If you look at activity, COLA blows all the rest away.

The average newcomer will take a look at COLA for the above reasons.
