The Russians just make less effort to deny it, that's all. This kind of
corruption is quite commonplace. I was truly disappointed that Segolene
Royale lost the election in France, I was watching the interview/debate
with Sarkozy, and it's true that she lost her cool a little, although
the whole thing was blown up out of proportion, to my mind. Still,
politics is absolutely ruthless - politicians use the same kind of
tactics we see here:
* answer a different question
* avoid any answer at all
* repeatedly misunderstand statements
* attribute statements to people which were never made
* discredit the messenger in any way possible
* undermine credibility in any way possible
* discount facts using any possible technique
* troll the opposition into saying something they shouldn't
... and so on. We hear this each day on the today programme!
