Yes, I know what you mean. Hypothetical scenario:

"My uncle just surfs the Web and uses Hotmail. He sometimes puts in a music CD
to listen to or prints out a letter."

Sounds familiar? Well, that's the type of person to whom a $600 Vista PC might
be fine. It's also the description of people to whom Linux would be optimal.
Readjust that price tag now. A $600 Vista PC does not have an office suite,
whereas Linux usually does (a free one can be obtained for Windows though).
Moreover, far cheaper PCs are available with Linux and they don't require the
cousin to come every now and then to defrag, clean up the malware (reinstall
the O/S and restore applications at times). They also ensure that some resume
or some photos will be accessible 10 years down the line.

That's the crowd Linux ought to be reaching out to. Other then techies, these
are the easy ones to switch. Windows power users and businesses are trickier
because they are addicted to specialised applications (never mind if there is
a good replacement).
