Maybe Ubuntu should take a cue from Linspire (and before you even
think about it, I'm not talking about going the commercial route) and
create some zero-cost invitation-only Ubuntu Insiders program for a
select group of people and make alpha and beta releases of Ubuntu
available only to the Ubuntu Insiders. Linspire used to have a
Linspire Insiders program where their alpha versions (called
"Thrillseekers", I think) were available only to the Linspire
Insiders, but the Linspire Insiders program was a paid subscription
at $100/year.
