The significant majority of the stuff that I post is either purely about
Linux or a comparison involving Linux and another platform (not necessarily
Windows). That's a comparative assessment and many weigh and judge their
possibilities by looking at what they currently use (typically Windows XP)
and what is said to be superior not only to XP, but also to its weird
successor, which may or may not deserve the label 'upgrade'.
