Actually I was going to attribute the U-turn to the COLA Trolls weekly
field report to Sweaty Ballmer, but maybe you're right.
Then again, AFAIK a large proportion if the warez haxxors are Russian
or Baltic in origin (Mafia ties, Vi@gra, Pr0n, etc.), and as Microsoft
know only too well, nothing spreads mindshare more effectively than
piracy. So this whole "crackdown" business is a bit of a
shoot-in-foot exercise, not to mention hugely damaging to their
already flailing PR, especially in ÐÐÑÑÐÑ.
Maybe Sweaty Ballmer should just cut a deal with the
Dolgoprudnenskaya, and stop wasting his precious sweat glands on
trying to reform them. After all, they share a common bond of ethics.
