This is true.  Apart from the horrific choice in media players by
the person in question, there seems to be a total lack of 
comprehension of "system updates".  Ever since the advent of 
Windows Update, one must ALWAYS install the latest updates from
Microsoft *immediately* after installing the operating system.

That's just the way it goes.  It's that way with a few linux
distributions as well, though not most of the good ones.

And it's certainly that way with Solaris.
