MP3 patent-holders and companies that adopt it could wind up
with exactly the same legal headaches that Microsoft suffered
this week over MP3.
Since when did /software/ patent holders get to sanction alternative
software? This whole system has turned into a FUD circus, where
comentators are more interested in what the players think than what any
reasonable legal position might be. There is only one solution here -
end software patents forthwith, and adopt open-source implementations.
Bring on GPL3, too.
