Hardware and entertainment divisions are no rosy business either (see below).
There are the usual excuses (Vista), but there are factual figures too. Be
sure that when the financial report comes out, so will hundreds of press
releases with a spin. Keeping up appearances is something important enough
to justify billions in stock buybacks (see below). Stocks are motivated by
outlook and investors are becoming incrasingly aware of the dead end(s).
