I used MainActor on Linux a few years ago.  A reasonable editor for 
the money, but you needed to buy plug-ins for a lot of the more
useful stuff.  I've been sticking with Final Cut Pro on my Mac until
I stumble across something on Linux that I like better.

Cinelerra has a ton of professional level features I like, including
the ability to build effects rendering clusters... but the interface
still had some pointy edges last time I played with it.  I've got
a newer version installed and hope to give it another try soon.
