I caught a glimpse of a stupid, nym-shifting troll defending
Microshaft with something along the lines of "M$ is right about google
desktop search not sufficiently respecting user's privacy".

Well, troll, the answer to that would be "the choice to use google's
software or not should be the user's, not Microshaft's".

Not to mention the irony of the Microshaft Corp complaining about
another company's software not sufficiently respecting user's
privacy...

Now, troll, if you really want to discuss something with me, choose a
non-offensive, non-trollish name, and don't act like a completely
worthless twat. A name like Dr Pain or Dr Hurt is guaranteed bozo-bin
fodder.
