You can purchase a refurbished or used IBM T23 laptop pre-installed
with Windows XP for around $280.00. They usually come with 512 meg
memory, DVD drive, 1.2+ GHz CPU and a 40 gig harddrive.
I have bought three of these. Would be excellent machines to load
Linux on as well. Why waste money. If you're just doing the usual
office functions, email, picture viewing, etc., then this laptop
does very well.
