I very much doubt the next Windows (probably to appear in 2012 as a more
modular blob) will do much to save things after Microsoft loses market on the
desktop and the server (it's already close to debt because it throws money at
free **hardware** and software to fight GNU/Linux in developing countries).
XP marks the last generation of Windows dominance on the desktop. Longhorn
shares Vista's problems on the server side.
