MS' stock is in a downward spiral. Yahoo's started back upward right as
MS was announcing they might have to borrow to buy Yahoo. Investors
wondered where all the money went, and had newfound confidence in
Yahoo's ability to stay alive. It'll probably go up today, too, since
they said MS can kiss-off.
In the meantime MS' stock continues to go down. It's taking awhile to
flush it all down completely, but it's going.
We have a toilet like that at work (apt comparison). When you flush it,
there's this big rush of water (similar to MS stuffing the channels
with unsold products). But the way it flows the water doesn''t always
carry everything down (similar to actual sales). The flow is so goofy
that you can flush it over and over and still not empty the thing
(similar to MS' continued survival despite the fact that they're
bleeding money). I found you have to sometimes add more paper (similar
to investors' money) after flushing it to grab the floating bits
(similar to Windows and Office) so it will follow the rest of the crap
(similar to Zune, Xbox, Surface and all of the other worthless and/or
money losing ideas) down the commode.
MS is just like that toilet. Ballmer keeps standing there, flushing.
The Xbox and other losers have floated on down. Investors are adding
paper to the bowl to grab what's left. Eventually the paper will be
used up, the toilet will be empty and Ballmer will have to get the
brush and start cleaning the bowl. Hopefully in an orange jumpsuit.
