The other artists might find themselves in the corner not attracting as many
listeners, buyers and not as many people attending their concerts as a result
(where money is made by *artists*, not just middlemen).
It's like the sad story of proprietary CMSs, which fail to realise that the big
money is in tailoring (custom-made) sites from Free components.
