Microsoft likes to extrapolate US 'market share' to the rest of the world.

A good example is Bong [sic], which might have about 9% in the US but only about 2-3% worldwide.

Microsoft does the same thing to belittle GNU/Linux and thus discourage
developers.

Even Dell blasted Microsoft for lying about sub-notebooks market share (ABI and Dell both 
say ~33%, Microsoft says 4%).
