GNOME Training confirmed!

,----[ Quote ]
| A few days ago, I took the risk of setting
| off alarm bells on the GNOME developer
| training sessions planned for GUADEC this
| year. It was a risk, and comments from the
| naysayers reminded me that itâs easier to do
| nothing than it is to take a risk. Iâm happy
| to say that the risk paid off.

Support GNOME by shopping at Amazon

,----[ Quote ]
| The GNOME foundation provide Amazon referral
| links for your browser. That is, every time
| you search for a product using the referral
| link and end up buying something GNOME get a
| paid a referral fee based on the amount you
| spend. The best bit is that it costs you
| absolutely nothing extra but helps keep
| GNOME in servers, ballpoint pens and
| developers.

New module decisions for GNOME 3.0

,----[ Quote ]
| Following some lengthy discussions within
| the GNOME community, release manager
| Vincent Untz has published a summary of the
| new modules to be included in the next
| major release of the GNOME desktop
| environment for Linux and Unix. GNOME 3.0,
| scheduled to arrive in September of this
| year, will not include the GNOME Activity
| Journal, formerly known as GNOME Zeitgeist.
| The Activity Journal allows users to locate
| documents chronologically and supports
| tagging and relationships between groups of
| files. According to Untz, it will not be
| included because it "needs more integration
| with the rest of the desktop and the
| overall GNOME design; right now, it feels
| too much like a stand alone application."

Clutter Advances In-Step With GNOME 3.0

,----[ Quote ]
| With the GNOME 2.31.2 release (an early
| GNOME 3.0 development snapshot) due out
| soon and various GNOME packages being
| checked-in for this milestone, the Clutter
| developers have made available their first
| post-1.2 release. Clutter 1.3 is the
| development series that will lead up to
| the Clutter 1.4 release that's expected to
| be released in tandem with GNOME 3.0. The
| just-released Clutter 1.3.2 release is
| this first step forwards.
