I never thought about it and it sure seems to make sense. With my
no-longer-supported SuSE 8.2 I don't think Konqueror ever calls any
external application when used in Web browser mode, as opposed to file
management mode. I guess that with KNode, KMail and the others, URL's are
treated as files, which of course is a good thing.
