The guy (let us call him Dummy) didn't mention the factor of cost. Later on I
asked him about the meeting which he and Duww^ (think mirror-like,
horizontal reflection) had with Microsoft. Duww^ is quite a world authority
in the field of statistics, by the way.

When I said to the panel that the product was so terrible that Microsoft
appear to be handing it out for free, he then paused and admitted this was
probably the case. Can you believe it? It's like a drug dealer taking over
your room and giving you a free dose. Based on the final impressions, it
ain't gonna happen (albeit I have my doubts). When others came to realise
that their Linux executable would no longer work (we are *not* a CS
department, so it's not obvious), they were quite bitter and opposed Dummy
in a gentle way.

Best wishes,

Roy

PS - My blog, much like my posts in UseNet, is not written at a high level of
quality. It's a 'dumping ground' for pointers and opinions that fit nowhere
else [1]. I rarely bother to re-write anything to improve the logical
structure and make it alliterate better. I feel the impulse to always point
this out, but maybe I'm just in lack of confidence.

PPS - in response to your earlier follow-up, if you started a blog, I'd
definitely syndicate.
