It used to be called what...writing? Or even...journalism.
Or maybe "writing in a diary".
It's funny to watch the Old Guard scrambling to keep up with they think
is so *now*, but yet is so old - people writing in journals; only
online. Strangely, the efforts emphasize the "webby" features of
blogging (so they can sell software).
How about emphasis in language, construction, and so on? It belies
what I said about the web in 1994 during my Internet World speech -- in
Marshall McLuhan's terms, it's a very /hot/ medium and, is, has always
been, about a rebirth of the technology of text.
