that everyone else has been stealing their patents, but
refuse to say which.

Obviously the Singapore Government wasn't very impressed
with Microsoft in 2004, when told this:

copy of Windows from a kiosk on main street in Beijing cares

Legitimate user in China is concerned about this.  Even users in US:


(I should also add that Windows Genuine Advantage has upset users in the U.S. too. Microsoft was sued in June 2006 by a user who alleged that the company didn't adequately disclose details of the tool when it was delivered to PC users through the company's Automatic Update system. And last summer, a Windows Genuine Advantage malfunction led some machines with legitimate software to slip into a "reduced functionality mode").
