Well, this for a start:
www.boycottnovell.com is "the most interesting and informative site on the
web."
That alone identifies you as someone who lacks any sort of critical thinking
ability.
I'm sorry maybe Im slow (I'm sure you will help me) Last time I checked
Roy provided a critical view of Microsoft so by me finding that
interesting (and notice I didnt say it was the only site I visited) Yes
its the most interesting. Why? because Roy's posts bring out many
dubious users and some really interesting opinions (on both sides)
I actually find the Microsoft press releases interesting and informative
as do I find the MS faithful's. It's very easy to see whats worrying
Redmond when a post you make provokes a torrent (no pun intended re:
pirated Windows products) of abuse. Its also interesting to see (as in
the patent applications) where Microsoft believes its next Cashcow will
come from.
Hell, I even read the Vista forums! I would say Ive a balanced view
based on my own observations, but then Im sure you will be back just to
try and cheapen my view anyway. IMO you are not interested in debate of
any kind and your intention here is at odds with the intention of this NG.
Let me give a few examples of why I find Roy's site so interesting:
1. Roy described about attacks by Microsoft advocates. At the time I
didn't believe it and before I had ever spoken to Roy I received the
very same thing he had been describing (coincidently when I started up
my blog and dared to mention an alternative to Microsoft products)
2. Roy highlighted Comes V Microsoft, and I cant see anything posted as
fact that was wrong. Maybe you would like to tell us?
3. Roy stated that shills will use false names to promote Microsoft.
Guess what? Independently of Roy Ive uncovered quite a few. Most
notably someone using the name of a legitimate company without
permission to promote Microsoft stock. After exposing this user I
received a thankyou from the company concerned. You can read all about
it over on my blog. The user was called Optionetics and was posting on
Twitter.
4. Roy highlighted the gifting of bloggers. Guess what? One was
uncovered on Microsoft Watch and it suddenly made sense when in the face
of so much anti-Vista talk (and this was on a Microsoft themed site)
that this person still posted comments such as "feature rich Vista" etc
etc. That ones on my site too. I helped uncover him, again
independently of Roy and BN.
Myself and Roy dont agree on everything Im sure. I believe I have a
different view of Joe Wilcox to him, that being said I have to ask, if
Roy's site is rubbish (as is suggested by some dubious posters) then why
do they bother trying to cheapen it?
FYI In regards to Roys Novell stance, I had removed OpenSUSE from our
local computer club machines after they signed up with Microsoft, long
before I had even spoken to Roy or indeed seen his site. Infact the
reason why Im even here and blogging/posting on various forums about
alternatives to Linux is because of a Microsoft faithful called Andre Da
Costa.
I certainly don't challenge the thousands of silly sites regarding Area
51 and I think they are rubbish, so why do the MS faithful not just
leave BN alone?
I really dont know why I typed this, since I don't believe you will
respond to any of my points directly. Thats the routine isn't it?
which is fine, I know where I stand. Again why do you people feel the
need to make sweeping statements when you dont know me?
Who are you to say whats critical thinking? the flaw in your observation
is that if a reader is to believe what you say, then they are guilty of
exactly the same as what you accuse me of.
If it were possible to brainwash people into mindless robots via HTML
I'm sure Microsoft would have patented it by now (and certainly used the
technique for Vista)
