PCLinuxOS still uses KDE3 and there will probably be such distributions for a
long time to come. The code will even be there in 10 years from now for those
who want to compile and distribute KDE3, so how exactly is choice being lost?

Compare that to Longhorn. The Longhorn Reborn project was _buried_ by Microsoft
when it sent C&D letters to people who ran it.
