So who is paying *you* Roy Schestowitz?
Yes because God forbid someone posts on the basis of honest held belief.
You may find it difficult to believe Moshe, but some people do post
without expecting a payment.
Indeed, but one would have to be all but lobotamized to think that someone
who posts dozens of messages a day, every day (including sundays) and
doesn't miss a day unless they're having some kind of network issue for
more then 3 years has to have more incentive than just good deeds.
Hell, one would think he'd say "Fuck it, I'm taking a week off" once in a
while. After all, nobody's paying him.. right? Only a monetary incentive
would push someone to be that religious about it.
He did take "time off" recently....
Roy may make many posts but unlike Moshe and others (check their COLA
stats) at least he is posting Linux related news in a Linux advocacy group.
I know many people are very keen to insult Roy at every opportunity, but
if you could for once just put Roy to one side and consider that my
comment was aimed at many people (not just Roy) who post about Linux
with an honest held belief in its benefits for no reward whatsoever. - I
should know, I am one of them. (and if you check my blog you will see I
named the company that offered me a thank you gift and I turned them down)
