I forgot to mention something in the post I have just despatched. All the
file handling functionality that I refer to (in KDE) has Konqueror as the
underlying engine. Konqueror is not just a killer application, going by the
definition of 'killer'. It's an application you can't do without once you
get accustomed. Nautilus doesn't bring home the bacon. Trust me, I tried.
And Windows XP is the suitable equivalent to a 3-year-old.
