Roy has admitted that his beef with Mono is not about the technology,
and he even admitted that it isn't about the alleged legal issues (both
in recent posts on BN).
Roy wants Mono out purely because it implements technology that
originally came from Microsoft.
The people that want Mono in want it for the same reason people want
Perl, PHP, Haskel, OCAML, Java, and all the other useful programming
tools and environments available in any good Linux distribution--they
are good and useful technology.
