3D City Maps

There has recently been some gossip about Google’s project which involves 3D maps of San Francisco, as well as other cities. More details have been disclosed today (Kudos to Slashdot) including some pictures and related research papers (PDF).

I wonder if they will somehow integrate it with Google Maps. If not, will the users hover? Will the users walk in the scene? [sarcasm] Any weapons provided? [/sarcasm]
Google Maps incorporate a quick address lookup, so typing in ‘Stanford library’ will put you right in front of the library. Now, if only they could mount the lasers on bees…
