The United Kingdom Might Already Have the Highest Number of COVID-19 Patients in Hospital Since February 2021 (Before Mass Vaccination)

ARRIL is just hours away. They say springtime will ameliorate the crisis, right?

The title is not provocative but factual assuming you still trust the numbers from the NHS, which nowadays likes to compare apples to oranges. If anything, the NHS revised its methods to make the numbers seem smaller (less severe) than they actually are.

So today (minutes ago) the government added another 200 dead people to the tally, which approaches 200,000. That’s about one in 400 citizens. One in 4 that goes to hospital (for COVID-19) will only come back from there in a body bag.

So to better understand imminent casualty count/s we need to check how many are hospitalised at this moment. Spoiler: it’s like another stadium.

Well, the picture isn’t pretty as the latest sum of patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 is 2,220 (that was on Sunday/Monday). Maybe it’s 2,500 per day already; hard to tell due to lag in reporting… our government recently decided that COVID-19 is so “old news” that there’s no need to report anything during weekends.

On 30-03-2022 (yesterday) 19,534 people were in hospital with this nasty virus, according to the official numbers. Compare that to 20,050 in 10-01-2022 — the highest figure since mid-February 2021.

Have we actually tackled this pandemic or are we simply deluding ourselves. Borisnaro’s regime keeps warping the reports (to belittle the issue), but it’s only getting worse and worse by the week. In the past week alone deaths increased to 1,097 (up 21.3% in just 7 days).

No More COVID-19 Testing Kits, But the Numbers Are Soaring, Plague Unresolved

Today’s numbers are in. Don’t get all optimistic because the government ceases to facilitate tests. They treat it like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

UK cases late March

UK deaths soar

COVID by date

It’s NOT Over! 165,000 Dead Brits — People Who Died With COVID-19 — as Coronavirus Patients in Hospital to Reach 20,000 This Week (Highest Since Pre-Vaccine Levels)

Today it’s the highest number of COVID-19 casualties since 08-02-2022 when it was 314.

Today: 303

Yesterday’s figures speak volumes. Patients in hospital:

28-03-2022 19,118
27-03-2022 18,370
26-03-2022 17,653

165,000 dead will be tomorrow or Thursday. Friday will almost certainly be over 20,000 in hospital, i.e. worse in over a year

20000 in hospital

COVID-19 in the UK: Deaths Soar to About 1,000 a Week as Hospitals See Rise From About 10,000 Patients to Almost 20,000

If you think this thing is over, you’ve been conned

THE NHS numbers are out again (they skip weekends to preserve the illusion that this pandemic has been placed on the ice or brought under control). How many COVID-19 patients are in hospitals? The official numbers are 3 days old, so expect over 18,000 by now.

998 deaths

Nice job, Borisnaro. Your “freedom day” has cost the lives of about 30,000 Brits already.

SCHESTOWITZ.COM Turns 18 (or 20)

This site, SCHESTOWITZ.COM, started in 2001 or in 2002. It used to be hosted on another domain before I registered SCHESTOWITZ.COM and moved everything over to it. As I remember it, I started developing just an academic-style profile page while I was at work and it developed a lot over time. I was about 20 at the time. SCHESTOWITZ.COM turned 18 a couple of weeks ago and later this year — in June — TUXMACHINES.ORG will also turn 18.

My first Web site was in Geocities. I was 15 or 16 at the time and I still have a copy, which might be partial/incomplete. That does not matter much as the original content in there was small and barely significant.

This domain became more active in recent weeks because I abandoned all social control media and decided to just blog more, instead. We need to bring back some of the older “web culture”, which includes simpler Web pages and RSS feeds. The corporations may not like that, governments find it harder to censor that, but that’s actually a badge of endorsement for the way things used to be.

UK COVID-19 Hospitalisations Rise to Highest Number in 2.5 Months

A few moments ago today’s COVID-19 figures were released in the official site, indicating 600,000 new cases this past week (599,244 to be precise). Those are just the ones confirmed by the government (not self-testing with home kits and people who experience no symptoms or won’t bother with tests).

As one might expect in light of the sharp rise in hospitalisations, fatalities rose sharply to 950 this past week (26.3% higher than the prior week). So we have about a thousand Brits per week perishing with COVID-19. Hospitals’ capacity is meanwhile impacted; it affects you no matter if COVID-19 is life-threatening to you personally.

The hospitalisations continue to rise steadily and the sum total of people in hospital was 17,440 yesterday. The latest number of admissions reported is for Monday. It was 2,227 — the highest number since January 11th. If this trend persists, we’ll have the worst numbers in over a year!

COVID-19 hospital totals

Based on historical data, about a quarter of these patients get discharged from hospital… in a body bag.

This morning I published historical data as ODF. So far 2022 has been less deadly (overall) than 2017 and 2018, based on official NHS data. So far this year only 7 people in the age range 0-14 died in England of Wales with/from COVID-19. See sheet (7) here; compare to pneumonia in (4). Suffice to say, the vaccine patent pools wish to give barely-tested vaccines to over 10 million children because over the past ~3 months COVID-19 killed 7 kids. We know these vaccines don’t curb the spread; even the governments and the companies admit this. So why push these to kids? Just money! 7 kids is less than one per week. Some of them did not even die from it but with it. We don’t yet know the long-term side effects, maybe infertility or similar. So keep kids out of it.

UK Government Data: How UK Mortality Rates Compare Pre- and Post-COVID-19

Bearing in mind 2020 and 2021 have warped 5-year averages somewhat, I’ve decided to dig up data from 4 years prior to the pandemic. We have these data sets as OpenDocument Format (ODF):

Let’s examine the figures for the first two months of the years (more recent data from this year can be incomplete).

Year, followed by total number of deaths per week (in England and Wales combined):

2016: 13,045 11,501 11,473 11,317 11,052 11,170 10,590 11,056
2017: 11,991 13,715 13,610 12,877 12,485 12,269 11,644 11,794
2018: 12,723 15,050 14,256 13,935 13,285 12,495 12,246 12,142
2019: 10,955 12,609 11,860 11,740 11,297 11,660 11,824 11,295
2022: 12,262 13,311 12,776 12,401 11,862 11,558 11,271 11,150

Highlighted (bold) is the highest figure for each column.

This shows that 2018 was a lot more “deadly” than this year and the same is true for 2017. We aren’t even attempting to split by cause of death (or attribution). These are just the totals.
