Poking the Bear

Metaphors and parables elicited and not to be eluded
HERE was a bear called Ten
Ten was routinely provoked
Sometimes he growled
Sometimes he hit
Sometimes he bit
The bear was reactionary
Then the bear filed a complaint about pesky humans poking him
Humans said this bear was dangerous
They moreover alleged that this bear was “attacking” them by complaining about how it had been treated
They said they were bear victims
Don’t poke the bear.

It is undeniable that mortality is soaring this year. This is based on statistically-significant deviations and very large datasets from many countries. This merits further exploration rather than suppression, censorship, and name-calling.

Of course, once again, despite no holidays the government just ‘skipped’ the mortality report of this past week (it was supposed to be released this past Thursday). “Last updated 9 June 2022,” the page states. The citizens rely on data — and data points (transparency) — to know what’s actually going on and be able to hold officials accountable. The media/press habitually manipulates the facts.
