Collaboration Sought

I have recently been thinking about extending a project of mine, Othello Master, to form a new project. The new project will take a different title and occupy a different domain. Chess, Checkers and the like can be considered. If you would like to be a part of this, please send me an E-mail because without somebody’s collaboration, I don’t plan on doing it.

A “Lazy Boy”

A gadget fair has opened in Las Vegas and the following picture from the BBC caught my eyes:

The chair also lets people experience surround sound while watching videos, with wireless control for six surround sound speakers. And a drinks holder.

Drinks holder?!?! Has humanity not gone spoiled enough yet? What’s next? A built-in toilet?

GameBoy on Palm

PalmAddict refer to MyPalmLife, who refer to Crimson Fire, who have released a Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance emulator for Palm.

With a large SD card, hundreds of Nintendo games can be carried in one’s pocket. Can this lead off a massive switch to Palm? Refer to PalmAddict for more information.

Mad Cow, Again!

Mad Cow

CBS News and the BBC report another mad cow woe in Canada. This is likely to sway the U.S. to stick to a current Canadian cattle ban.

One more reason to stick to poultry and fish…

Minimal Menus

Minimal menuMany programs fail where it matters the most. They do not layer levels of options so as to allow new users to cope. This is why I have changed the menu that you see on the right. Shall you need more advanced options, press the ‘Extended Menu’ option at the top. Implementation/installation details have been included. On the left:

Palm Embarrassment

Palm userUseNet participants from uk.comp.sys.palmtops and alt.comp.os.palm have come up with an SOS this morning. It turns out that Tungsten 5 and Tungsten E users (at least) are affected by a serious bug that can permanently disallow Palms from being switched off. The bug came into effect only yesterday. David Gerrie from uk.comp.sys.palmtops writes:

Solved!! Palm have put a fix on the website, all to do with birthday reminders apparently! Obviously posting here (UseNet) provided the impetus to fixing it!

Update: David Gerrie has E-mailed me the direct link to the solution. Here is his explanation:

It’s knowledge base article is number 26450. It’s not an actual patch, merely a workaround solution. Not sure if they are planning on patching or not..!
