Nima Done Right

nima-blender

I was perhaps too hasty; I complained about my NIMA coffee (or generic) grinder earlier this summer, but today I found out that the overheating (even some smoke) issue can be overcome by 1) taking more breaks to let it cool down; 2) putting fewer coffee beans in the grinder at any given time, limiting the strain in general; 3) letting it rest without grinding for a very long time. There is always “next time”. This helps keep the ground coffee fresher.

As a bonus, (2) above solves an issue I had last month. Some beans remained whole or mostly whole. Now, they’re all cut finely and nicely.

Tomorrow’s Judgment

I can now say, as it is public information, that tomorrow morning a judgment will be issued.

This judgment will be handed down by the Judge remotely by circulation to the parties' representatives by email and release to The National Archives. The date and time for hand-down is deemed to be 10:30am on Wednesday 29th July 2026

Recent News

I am very happy to report that my nephew now has a name and is in good health. He was born at the exact same time I did cross-examination at the High Court.

3.5 years ago my wife officially became a British citizen and this year she speaks to high British ministers and also our deputy PM. We are thankful for the Legal Aid we have received.

Voting is 2 days away.

You want to use GNU/Linux? To join 7.7% of the world? Why would you want to do that? Use Windows. Try WSL.

That is what they are trying to tell us and the companies that employ us. GNU/Linux is “dangerous”, “untrusted”, and “unreliable”.

When Society Lacks Empathy

heart

I have long been fascinated (in the “annoyed” sense) by/with people so cold-hearted that they would do anything for money, even utterly illegal things. Some of them would not even deny it to themselves; they just simple don’t care.

The first time it was made abundantly clear to me was in 2003. I met a person who worked towards an MBA and he said the darnest thing out loud. He was a sociopath of the worst kind.

A world without love and empathy would be a dark place. Sadly, many of the largest and most powerful companies out there are run by sociopaths who lack empathy.

Another Decision

I understand that tomorrow there will be a decision issued by the High Court pertaining to a 2025 case which involves me. I will get a chance to write about it some time tomorrow or later this week.

Tux Machines at 22

Tux Machines Turns 20

Over two years ago Rianne and colleagues celebrated her site that she curates turning 20. Back then the site and its community were besieged by American aggressors. The aggression did not end well. Rianne and the site received more publicity, more people offered to help/contribute, and last month we all celebrated in northern England as the site turned 22.
