Operating System Monoculture
To summarise, let us review the main points. Commercially-driven operating systems are a flaky business. At present, software is administered and prescribed in Washington (or hypothetically by Apple in California). It must, however, be controlled by the community world-wide and administered in a non-localised fashion that is governed globally. ICANN are subjected to resistance and disdain for similar reasons, as well as all fake domain registrations that demonstrate its miserable failure1. The Internet cannot be governed by a single country without upsetting and discriminating a majority. Let us free our minds and opt for Open Source.
