Keeping Our Country Free

“Give me a country where I can be free”

Today I published Part II of the series about swatting my wife and I. We never forgot. We took notes. In Part I I added a similar case, as it had been handled by the same solicitor as ours (at the time).

The UK must not become a “police state” like the US. It needs to resist the temptation.

The US is fast becoming another Russia. Maybe they should rename. “United Federation”?

Tropical Fish

Finally.

Today it’s time to heat up the fish tanks, as it has been getting cold lately, especially overnight, and it’ll be getting colder in weeks to come. Some fish cannot tolerate room temperature in October. Since we’re one heater short we’ll need to separate tropical ones from cold water ones.

The task isn’t hard, as no water change is needed, but catching the fish (to transfer) can traumatise them somewhat. We have no other choice.

Other than that, I’ve managed to finish Daily Links by 9AM. I think that’s the first time ever. This will free up time for other tasks.

CR-2026-007405: Holding Reform UK Party Limited Accountable

The more they talk, the worse it gets

Today I checked CR-2026-007405. I looked at it very quickly just to ensure that Daniel Pocock’s fight against Reform UK Party Limited is progressing, with another update issued yesterday.

From what I can gather, CR-2026-007405 is running ahead and Reform UK Party Limited finds itself in a state of panic. It lied to the public, now it lies to the Court (legally actionable), it sometimes lies to both. It cannot keep its false narrative straight and consistent.

The inevitable outcome is some negative press for Reform UK Party Limited, which basically robbed the taxpayers after it had taken money illegally (from rich foreigners).

Reform UK Party Limited is an instrument of hostile powers abroad.

ManCity Back on Topic (Football)

Tomorrow

PSG today

Today we expect to see some tourists from France around here, as there’s a big opportunity for ManCity to show that it’s better than the two-times (in a row) champions of Europe, PSG.

It’s going to be partly sunny today and tomorrow.

This coming weekend we’ll need to do further testing of new improvements to sites, as there are long-overdue things in the queue and procrastination prevents further work on further extensions.

I recently managed to split my writings across more sites. It helps keep the signal-to-noise ratio higher.

This year Rianne and I found a good rhythm and have managed to stay highly productive and focused.

For ManCity, sooner or later the negative press will fade away and people will talk about the football.

In Journalism, You Cannot Always “Play Safe”

Seeking affirmation through conformism and appeasement means being toothless

Man rock-climbing

Journalism requires courage – sometimes stubbornness – and good journalism “pushes boundaries” (or touches them). The notion of “playing it safe” comes from high-risk disciplines like rock-climbing; the risks are different with ropes and high falls.

Moreover, one tactic to discourage particular reporting or reporting about a particular topic is to paint the reporter as “vlogger” or “blogger” or “social media user” etc. It’s not accidental, as the real intention is to rob people of protections offered to reporters, columnists, commentators and journalists.

I’ve seem all those demonisation tactics over the years. I think I know how to tackle or defuse them.

If you always “play safe”, you probably will never expose the most dangerous people and not achieve anything meaningful. Retaliation is proportional to the magnitude of measurable outcomes.

Liverpool Shows That Heckling Does Not Work

Trip to Liverpool

Trip to Liverpool

Today we discussed some of the tasteless things Liverpool FC (LFC) fans did yesterday at the match, using caricatures of players in prison and saying words like “penalties” or “breaches”. As if the players were guilty of something…

ManCity is appealing and it gave a bitter defeat to LFC (0-3 at home).

No penalty kicks.

LFC should have prepared for a match, not a show trial by grotesque placards.

Three goals, no penalty

Women are targeted a lot

Allison Pearson

Today I started a new series about events that happened about 3 years ago. I meticulously took notes to document what happened. It’s still relevant and may be legally relevant for years to come as we plan to pursue the Court of Appeal – it’s a pursuit of justice for many victims of online bullying. People who do reporting (like the journalist mentioned in today’s parts) deserve praise, not bullying.

Countries that have a culture of free press are better at attaining and maintaining democracy. We need the public to be suitably informed.
