Justifying the Heavy Investments in the Club

Test two for Enzo

crystal-p

AT 8PM tonight (BST) the match will kick off down south. I plan to watch that, it’s only 4 hours away; maybe I’ll keep an eye on the score instead, as it’s a late Friday match.

Today we took a look at a large construction project across the road from the stadium. 3 months ago that construction project was still in its diapers, as can be seen in this video of “Pep” inside the taxi (where he picks up the grown up “kid”).

That project replaces a truly awful and high-crime area that was an eyesore and a problem for the stadium’s image… and problem for the pub across the road (where we watched the England-Argentina semi-final), even the Tesco Express down the road. It’ll not look like this when done:

An eyesore

Pubs around that area are dying. They become relics. We run past them sometimes. That makes way for more “modern” things:

Hoping Enzo does “justice” to these investments.

Brett Wilson LLP is Extremely Rude

It probably goes without saying, it’s actually an understatement

The other day I made it very clear that Roy and Rianne speak for Roy and Rianne. Sending messages to us and also to my mother would be inappropriate.

Why can’t Brett Wilson LLP get the very basics right? Did these people actually graduate from law school?

The Crocodile is Shedding Off Tears Again

Crocodile Showing Fierce Teeth

THIS year I heard the term “emotional vulture” many times and wrongly assumed it might be similar to “crocodile tears” (a fake emotion(al) crocodile that cries for the people or animals it devours). As it turns out, emotional vulture is one who preys on the emotionally vulnerable – i.e. it is something different altogether. It’s said to refer to a manipulative dating trend that targets people going through a breakup (or similar ordeal). I remember a Norwegian girl showing interest in me when her Danish boyfriend was not treating her well; I wasn’t preying on her, it felt like she was using me to try to get him (the boyfriend) jealous or not to take her for granted.

Anyway, today I saw a Crocodile or Rhino shedding off tears. It was some angry lawyer who operates under the false impression that while labouring as a hired gun with death threats, threats to decapitate sites, and threats to put a family in prison he is somehow a poor victim. Are these people as drunk as their clients?

Seriously, how can such pathetic and aggressive people seriously portray themselves as the victims? Someone who explains their behaviour is doing a public service, nothing else.

Last Year’s Decision

Around Manchester

The decision made a year ago to curb binges of salty and sweet foods ended our weekly ‘ritual’, but we have since then found alternatives, which are healthier and more productive use of time. Improving diet is a desirable thing and governments should recommend healthy diets.

So we try to stock good foods and consume them in moderation.

Today, for instance, I spent 2-3 hours organising and tidying up the house. It’s neater and it makes easier to find things. For instance, I categorised the bottles and sorted things by dates, then I arranged all the detergents and agents in the laundry room. In the past, when I worked nights (overnight) we mostly neglected some of those things and over time some closets became highly disorganised. We lacked the time to deal with it.

Worse yet, sleep was not consistent and diet was not ideal; even eating times were quite stochastic.

I’m glad we made the changes needed and, in hindsight, regulation against consumption of unhealthy foods is the push we needed. Less chances of diabetes, too.

Reaping What They Sow

Hamas terror

The insensitive behaviour of Brett Wilson LLP last year [1, 2, 3] was a self-inflicted wound, as it was not the first time, far from it, but this time it was more blatant and likely intentional (they like to attack people during holidays, they effectively weaponise religion). In this particular case it was a mistake as they know that in this sector being seen as antisemitic is career suicide and, to make matters worse, their biggest client is alleged to be profoundly antisemitic. Freedom fighters don’t massacre dogs and civilians.

Very Good Day Out

Today we travelled to 3 places (quite distant from one another). One of them had a beach-like feel to it, but Manchester has no beaches, the closest one can get to that are the reservoirs, the boat canal, or the port-like structures in Salford Quays. They’re not too far from central stations, the weather was perfect (blue sky, but not too hot), so we made the most out of it and everything went smoothly for Rianne’s birthday.

9 years ago on the same date we stayed in the centre of Town, but not this time.

Pho

Next up we have the September 2024 [1, 2] counterclaim anniversary, then our wedding anniversary, followed by an anniversary in October, another one in November, and then my birthday in December, exactly a week before XMas Eve.

Lots to look forward to. We still need more rain.

No Hurry Anymore

A cool day

IT seems like a perfect day to be out. A cool day with such a sunny start (we come back in the later afternoon anyway) is a good start for a special birthday.

I’ve been productive offline lately. The “nest” is OK and our health is good, we even sleep more than in prior years and we managed to cook more. It’s healthier to have fresh food and it saves money.

After today we’ll have some special anniversary every month, even two next month.

Next year I plan to publish many lengthy series, so focus is necessary. No hurry though.
