Focus needs time, not bells

oday turns out to be another lovely (sunny and warm) day, so plans have changed and we’re going out for the day. This year has been a lot more relaxing than prior ones.

I recently increased my E-mail-checking intervals to 3+ days, seeing that no critical mail is missed if I don’t check my inbox for a few days.

Notifications of any kind appeal to “hunger” and hunger relates to impulse, which comes from human instincts. What’s repulsive about this is that companies latched onto this to case inherent addiction, passing casino ‘science’ onto digital systems.

I need to focus on more labour- and thought-intensive tasks, not limited to filing an appeal and studying the EPO corruption in order to run this long and very important series.

I sometimes wished I had adopted this etiquette much sooner.

Seems wrong

oday I saw a new job ad. It turns out that what I wrote last week (Brett Wilson must be broke) is paying a Paralegal or Administer just £28k/annum. In central London. That barely even covers rent there!

In London, based on some basic research, this is like minimum wage. For people who have a degree in law. Incredible.

But then again, Americans wanted something cheap (shoddy) with poor staff retention. They cannot even distinguish between clients anymore! Under sworn oath a year ago they admitted to the judge they had gotten confused.

What sane person with a law degree wish to work for minimum wage for male thugs? No wonder so many people flee this firm.

“Is it even London’s minimum suvivable wage?” a friend has asked me. “It looks much lower than that.”

Maybe they want their staff to share apartment or even share a room.

“Or else force them to sleep in the sauna,” the friend responsed.

The public must know, the law needs to be reformed

lans changed after the weather decided to become nice and sunny (blue skies), at least for about half an hour. We went to feed the birds, squirrels soon joined them, and even a crow came (which is highly unusual). Then the drizzle started and we got back.

I recently decided that coverage related to online abuse against my family and I, especially the lawfare, merits two parts per day.

Why two?

We just have so much material and I don’t want it to take us decades to cover. I want to move on and covers science/tech.

Years ago the plan the plan was to cover this 2-3 times per week, now it’s more than 5 times faster.

Change of plans

HE weather has gotten rather awful, so we might not visit the park to feed the birds. We did, however, manage to work on some articles, prepare some very nice good, and have hours-old talks with family. We’re only a few days away from October. That marks a year since the trial in 2025. In 2027 we still plan to (at least try to) go to the UK’s Court of Appeal.

No actual verdict, just hypothetical

n this month one year ago I published “The Mind of the ‘Hulk Hogan of UEFI’” after a long run in the nearby park and after feeding 100+ birds (some jumped on me as they were really voracious). One part of it aged well and still resonates: “Garrett would ask/invite a Microsoft/GitHub/GNOME/Mono ally (whom he knows and spoke about for years) to file another lawsuit from the US, using the exact same legal team, because merely reporting that someone strangled women is the real issue? The reporting was done 3-4 years earlier, i.e. out of time for any libel claim.”

That someone decided to sue me for mentioning physical abuse of women does (to this date) make me proud. I invite more men to sue me for talking about crimes against women.

He also hates animals, like many psychotic men do. No empathy whatsoever.

Another day in Mayfield

t was sunny again today. Quite warm, too. We went to Mayfield Depot/Park and Rianne said it was “not bad”; the lawns there are very nice, sort of like a PL football pitch (almost). They’ve clearly spent a lot of money on that. We didn’t buy anything as we had brought our own drinks from home.

The week is nearly over and we plan to go out again this afternoon (feeding the birds a third time for today) because we assume it might be the last warm-ish week. It’s officially autumn now and the trees are all still green. Soon they will be naked.

This year we appreciate the simplest things – even more then prior decades – and next year we believe we’ll find exposure/access to media, as our case is being escalated up the political chain.

Simple is funner

think there is a common perception or this widespread belief that when people are young they want to collect, to publicly boast about it, to keep accumulating “stuff”, then flaunt to peers and strangers. They seek affirmation. It’s not so gender-dependent a phenomenon and it has not much to do with “nesting” or “hunting”. It’s about insecurities and compensating for them.

So they hoard, they want big and complicated (extensive) things “in volume”. That is particularly applicable to habitats (homes). When people get older and more mature they may wish to give things away, want to move to smaller places for a simpler life with less maintenance to be done, less to worry about (less inside one’s mind).

The age factor is less to do with having to give things away at death; it’s not much to do with the physical difficulties of keeping intact large places or many rooms/units (sometimes with garden).

In practice it seems to boil down to mindset or mentality. The consumerism brainwash has less sway on older people, who learned from experience they can no longer conflate ownership with happiness and that having more than the minimal (bare minimum) required, e.g. life-sustaining medication, can become a burden.

What’s the point hoarding 100 pairs of shoes when you have only 2 feet for instance?

In geeks’ spheres it is the same. Young people install a lot of things (I was guilty of this too) and as they grow older they consolidate and try to simplify or cement workflows.

The human mind does not work well in parallel. It is an inherently serial machine, with ’round-robin’-type thinking relying on paper notes or memorisation.

Less is more (productivity).
